RIXO and John Lewis Launch Largest Collaboration Yet

The British fashion brand RIXO has unveiled its largest collaboration to date with retailer John Lewis. The new collection, comprising 44 pieces, brings RIXO's signature prints and vintage-inspired designs to a wider audience across John Lewis stores nationwide.

RIXO, founded in 2015 by Henrietta Rix and Orlagh McCloskey, has developed a strong following among fashion enthusiasts and celebrities, with notable wearers including the Princess of Wales and Margot Robbie. Previously, RIXO's physical presence was limited to a few stores in London, a concession at Liberty, and an outlet at Bicester Village, making its designs less accessible to those outside these areas.

The collaboration aims to make RIXO's occasionwear more accessible. "Rather than simply adding another designer name to the high street, this is a collaboration that promises to make getting dressed for winter’s social calendar considerably easier," a report from Daily Mail noted.

The collection draws inspiration from a historical block-printed textile dating back to 1849, found in the John Lewis Partnership Archive. This motif appears on various items, including dresses, a blouse, a skirt, and a scarf.

Key pieces highlighted from the collection include the "Lucy" and "Amari" maxi dresses, which feature sophisticated black-ground floral prints. A standout item is the "Delphina" mini dress, priced at £235, noted for its satin finish and pankou knot detail. The "Carina" printed maxi dress, the most expensive piece at £545, features a sweetheart neckline.

Beyond dresses, the collection includes separates such as a 100% silk black midi skirt, designed for versatility suitable for both evening events and more casual daywear when paired with knitwear. Outerwear options include a cropped velvet jacket with gold embroidery (£325) and a tuxedo-style jacket (£295), both offering a vintage aesthetic. Another notable piece is the "Luanne" faux-fur-trimmed jacket, praised for its flattering cropped length.

RIXO co-founder Orlagh McCloskey expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "If you’re going to do a collaboration, you have to do it properly. It should feel as strong, if not stronger, than anything you’ve created before – every piece considered, every detail cared for, and something you feel genuinely proud to put your name to."

McCloskey added, "We can’t wait to see women across the UK, whether they’re longtime RIXO lovers or discovering us for the first time through John Lewis, style it in their own way and make it theirs."
