Rita Ora Shines at Premiere Amidst Legal Battle
The singer opted for a striking fashion statement at the 'Klara And The Sun' premiere while facing a significant lawsuit from her former manager.
Singer Rita Ora made a memorable appearance at the premiere of her husband Taika Waititi's new film, "Klara And The Sun," held at the BFI London Film Festival. Ora donned a distinctive black lace gown paired with a large headpiece, drawing considerable attention on the red carpet.
She was joined at the event by the film's stars, including Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular robot character, and Amy Adams, who portrays the overbearing mother Chrissie. Ortega herself garnered attention in a form-fitting gold satin gown and a matching headband.
The premiere marks Ora's first public appearance since reports emerged that she is being sued by her former manager, Sarah Stennett, for approximately £3.2 million. The lawsuit, filed at the High Court, claims that Ora failed to pay her former manager's firm, FAE Ventures, a percentage of her earnings from tours and television work. Stennett's firm alleges that Ora, who worked with them from 2009 until parting ways in 2024, violated contract terms.
Documents reportedly claim the largest underpayment sum is over £1.7 million, with FAE Ventures citing 'impermissible deductions' for professional services such as advertising, accountancy, and insurance. An additional claim of £1.1 million is related to 'unreported touring income' between spring 2019 and 2020 during Ora's Phoenix World Tour.
Following her departure from FAE Ventures, Ora signed with Range Media Partners and has expanded her professional focus beyond music. She is reportedly working on her fourth studio album, scheduled for a 2027 release, and is involved in several film projects, including Amazon MGM's "Honeymoon with Harry" and the "Voltron" movie. Ora is also set to return to the Disney Descendants franchise and is co-founder of the haircare company TYPEBEA.
