Rita Ora's Style Statement and Legal Woes Surface at Film Premiere
Singer captures attention on the red carpet while facing a multi-million dollar lawsuit from her former manager.
Rita Ora made a striking appearance at the premiere of "Klara And The Sun" at the BFI London Film Festival, supporting her husband Taika Waititi. The singer arrived in a distinctive black lace gown paired with a large headpiece, drawing considerable attention on the red carpet.
Ora was joined at the event by the film's stars, including Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular robot character, and Amy Adams. "Klara And The Sun" is set in an alternative future where technological advancements have created distinct social classes, and the story follows a robot designed to combat loneliness.
Jenna Ortega wore a gold satin gown with a matching headband, while Amy Adams opted for a black and white ensemble. Taika Waititi, who directed the dystopian film, appeared in a classic black tuxedo.
Ora's red carpet appearance comes shortly after reports emerged that she is being sued by her former manager for approximately £3.2 million. The lawsuit, filed by FAE Ventures, alleges that Ora failed to pay a percentage of her earnings over several years. The claims include underpayment of touring income and alleged "impermissible deductions" for professional services.
Rita Ora and her former manager, Sarah Stennett, parted ways in 2024 after a collaboration that began in 2009. The initial reports of their separation suggested disagreements over career direction, but the legal action indicates a more significant financial dispute.
The legal documents reportedly state that the largest underpayment claim is over £1.7 million. Another claim is for £1.1 million related to unreported touring income between spring 2019 and 2020 during Ora's Phoenix World Tour.
Following her departure from FAE Ventures, Ora signed with Range Media Partners, with reports indicating a shift in her career focus towards becoming a multi-hyphenate. In addition to her music endeavors, which include a new album slated for a 2027 release, Ora is involved in several upcoming film projects, including "Honeymoon with Harry" and the "Voltron" movie. She is also reprising her role as the Queen of Hearts in "Descendants: Wicked Wonderland" and co-founding a haircare company called TYPEBEA.
