Beatles drummer Ringo Starr, who turned 86 on Tuesday, celebrated his birthday with a "Peace and Love" event in Beverly Hills, accompanied by his wife, Barbara Bach.
Starr, who has been married to Bach for 45 years, appeared to be in good spirits as he posed for photographs at the celebration. Bach, a former Bond girl known for her role in "The Spy Who Loved Me," wore a cream blazer over an all-black outfit.
The couple met in 1980 on the set of the film "Caveman" and married the following year. They maintain homes in London, Los Angeles, and Monte Carlo.
Bach, who began her career as a model for publications like Vogue and Elle, also appeared in a Playboy spread in 1981. Her acting credits include the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me," where she portrayed KGB agent Anya Amasova.
Starr and Bach have navigated personal challenges together, including a near-fatal car crash and battles with addiction. They entered rehab together and subsequently adopted a more health-conscious lifestyle, embracing vegetarianism.
While the couple does not have children together, both brought children from previous relationships into their marriage. Bach has two children, Francesca and Gianni, from her marriage to Italian industrialist Augusto Gregorini. Starr has three children – Zak, Jason, and Lee – from his marriage to hairdresser Maureen Cox.
In recent musical news, Starr made an appearance on Sir Paul McCartney's new album, featuring on the song "Home to Us." This marks a reunion for the two former Beatles members, with McCartney noting it was Starr's first-ever duet with a bandmate. Starr also confirmed to Jimmy Kimmel that he and McCartney had worked on a song together that began with drums two years prior, describing it as amusing and authentic.
The iconic group, The Beatles, is also set to be the subject of a series of biopics in 2028, directed by Sam Mendes. Barry Keoghan is slated to portray Starr in these films, which will chronicle the band's rise to fame.
