Country music artist Riley Green consistently places his fans at the forefront when curating his concert setlists. During a recent Spotify interview with Pat McAfee, Green detailed his fan-centric approach to performance planning. "It's definitely, I look at everything I do in my career as a fan. Like, what would I want to see my favorite artist do?" Green stated. He elaborated that his decision-making process involves considering what a ticket-buying fan, who has worked to afford the experience, would want to see. "It's not necessarily the songs I want to play. It's what songs do I think somebody that bought that ticket that saved up that works, you know, a construction job, what do they want to see me do, you know," he explained.
Green also shared that his perspective as a music fan influences his songwriting and recording processes. "I'm a huge fan of music. I'm still a fan. So, I mean, I look at things like that and when I write and go to record a record, I think about, man, what does that person want to hear me sing about?" he said.
While Green expressed a fondness for "sad country songs," he also noted his enjoyment of "drunk kind of songs." The artist's latest album, "That's Just Me," was slated for release on September 18.
