Country music artist Riley Green has revealed that his foray into acting was facilitated by his friendship with "Yellowstone" star Luke Grimes. Green landed his first acting role as Garrett, a former Navy SEAL dealing with PTSD, in the CBS drama "Marshals," a spinoff from the popular "Yellowstone" series.

Green, who made his acting debut alongside Grimes, told Fox News Digital that the opportunity arose organically through their writing sessions. "He mentioned something about maybe I should act. I said, 'Well I'm interested.' He said, 'I've got this show.' A couple months later, I went out and read for a part. They said I got it. I flew back out to Utah and we filmed the show," Green explained.

He admitted that stepping onto the set of "Marshals" was more nerve-wracking than performing live on stage. "I don’t get nervous going on stage anymore," Green previously told Fox News Digital. "I’ve played enough shows now it kind of comes naturally, but this was a completely different world, and it’s not my set, it’s not my stage."

Green's career path took an unexpected turn, as he was previously a construction worker, framing houses before signing a record deal in 2018. He signed with Big Machine Label Group that year and achieved success with hits like "There Was This Girl" and "I Wish Grandpas Never Died."

Despite his growing fame and unexpected acting venture, Green remains connected to his roots. He continues to live on his farm in Alabama, preferring it to relocating to Nashville. "Me in real life, I'd rather be on my bulldozer on a farm, or hunting somewhere," he stated.

Green's gradual success over more than a decade has been a motivating factor in his career. "I've been so fortunate that my success was gradual," he told CBS hosts. "Early 20s, I don't know if I could have handled what I've got going on right now, but it's been really motivating."
