Rihanna Responds to EJ Johnson's Paris Fashion Week Shade

Rihanna responded with a curt, one-word reply to EJ Johnson after the television personality shaded the singer for being an hour late to the Dior show during Paris Fashion Week.

Earlier in the week, Johnson, who uses they/them pronouns, shared details of the event on Instagram. In a clip posted after the show, Johnson stated, "It did start an hour late because Rihanna was late and you know … we didn’t care to wait for her but the show was beautiful nonetheless."

Subsequently, a video surfaced of Johnson being momentarily blocked from entering their Paris hotel after posing for paparazzi. In response to the coverage of Johnson's comments, Rihanna, 38, simply commented, "Damn," on an Instagram post.

This is not the first time Johnson has been critical of Rihanna's fashion choices. Following the Met Gala in May, Johnson claimed that prominent figures like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Kim Kardashian did not meet expectations with their ensembles. Johnson specifically referenced Rihanna's 2015 Met Gala look, a Guo Pei yellow cape, stating, "I mean, it was bomb," contrasting it with her more recent appearances.

In another instance shared online, Johnson discussed purchasing a Bottega calf-skin cape, suggesting it was the same one Rihanna wore. "I think she wore the sample that came down the runway but I was actually the only person that bought it off the runway," Johnson said.
