A recent performance by Australian-American rocker Rick Springfield has captured widespread attention, with the 76-year-old musician going viral for his remarkably toned physique.
Springfield was seen performing shirtless on stage, clad only in leather trousers, showcasing a physique that drew commentary from Joe Rogan and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee on Rogan's podcast. A video clip of the performance, during which Springfield sang his hit song "Jessie's Girl," was featured on the podcast.
"This is literally bananas. He's 76 years old and he's singing Jessie's Girl like he just wrote it," Rogan stated, remarking on Springfield's appearance. "First of all, he looks f***ing incredible. Like he's working out every day. I don't even understand it. He looks like a 30-year-old guy."
Lee echoed the sentiment, calling Springfield "f***ing inspirational."
Springfield, who has maintained a public image as a sex symbol throughout his career, has previously shared details about his fitness regimen. In 2023, he stated that he exercises daily and follows a pescatarian diet. He mentioned trying a vegan diet but found it made him look unhealthy, prompting him to reintroduce fish for protein.
"I work out every day," Springfield told People magazine in 2023 when asked about his secret to staying "sexy" in his seventies. "I just got a trainer, and I've been working out with him. Basically, I watch what I eat, and I try and stay active."
Born Richard Lewis Springthorpe in Australia, Springfield rose to prominence as a member of the pop rock group Zoot before launching a solo career. His debut single, "Speak to the Sky," achieved top 10 status in Australia in 1972, followed by his major hit "Jessie's Girl" in 1980. Beyond his music career, Springfield also has an acting résumé, including a long-standing role on the daytime soap opera "General Hospital" and appearances in shows like "Californication" and "The Goldbergs."
