Longtime QVC host Rick Domeier announced he will retire at the end of 2026, concluding a 32-year career with the home shopping network. Domeier, 65, revealed the news during a Christmas in July event, stating that he and his wife, Amy, felt it was the opportune moment for him to transition to retirement while he is still in good health.
"At the end of the year, I’ll be going down a very different road — a road I’ve never been on before. It’s called retirement road," Domeier said in a statement to Us Weekly. He expressed gratitude for the support he has received from colleagues and QVC customers throughout his tenure, which began in 1994.
Domeier plans to spend his retirement traveling with his wife, reconnecting with friends, and focusing on his fitness and longevity interests. He also mentioned upcoming family events, including his son Nick's wedding in 2027. Domeier expressed a desire to document his experiences in retirement and learn more about this new chapter.
Before his retirement, Domeier will launch a new show titled "Rick Hits the Road." This program will feature broadcasts from different cities, starting with New Orleans. The show aims to connect with QVC customers across various locations. Domeier anticipates his final shows with the network will be celebratory, incorporating clips and guest appearances, and ideally featuring a live audience.
Prior to his career at QVC, Domeier studied theater and appeared in television shows such as "St. Elsewhere" and "The Young and the Restless." He also had roles in films, including "Evil Dead II" (1987) and "Girl, Interrupted" (1999).
