QVC host Rick Domeier has announced his retirement, which is set to take place at the end of 2026, concluding a career spanning over three decades with the shopping network. Domeier, 65, revealed the news during his "Rick St. Nick" program.
Domeier joined QVC as a host trainee in October 1994 and became a permanent program host by April 1995. He expressed excitement about embracing the "retirement road" and exploring "this next chapter" in an interview with Us Weekly, noting that the decision was made in consultation with his wife, Amy.
"I heard it's fun, and I'm going to be retiring at the end of this year, end of December," Domeier confirmed. He added that with his retirement scheduled for the end of 2026, he will have ample time to express his gratitude to colleagues and, most importantly, the QVC customers.
His post-retirement plans include spending more time with his wife, pursuing travel, and attending his son's wedding next year. Domeier also expressed a continued interest in fitness and longevity, intending to document his experiences in retirement. "I want to find out what retirement is all about," he stated.
Domeier, who is a father to two sons, will also participate in a new program titled "Rick Hits The Road." This series will feature broadcasts from various cities, with the initial stop planned for New Orleans alongside fellow hosts Jimmy Stovall and Ali Carr, aiming to connect with QVC customers in different locations.
Domeier's career has also included acting and theater work. He has been a member of theater companies and appeared in television shows such as "St. Elsewhere," "The Bold and the Beautiful," "The Young and the Restless," and "Days of Our Lives." His film credits include roles in "Teen Wolf" (1985), "Die Hard 2" (1990), and "Girl, Interrupted" (1999).
Domeier indicated that special, celebratory, and in-person shows may be planned to mark his departure from QVC, aiming for a fun rather than somber farewell to his audience.
