Richard Riehle, an actor celebrated for his role as Tom in the 1999 cult classic film "Office Space," has died at the age of 78. Friends of the actor confirmed his passing to TMZ on Monday, stating that he died of natural causes on October 15.
Riehle's career was extensive, spanning decades and encompassing over 400 projects across film and television. In "Office Space," his character, a product manager at the fictional company Initech, is laid off and subsequently receives a large settlement after a car accident, which he uses to create a "Jump to Conclusions" mat.
Beyond his memorable role in "Office Space," Riehle was also recognized for his performances in "Casino" and "The Man from Earth." His television work included appearances in popular series such as "The Mind Project" and "The Neighbors," and he also had a role in the widely seen film "Bridesmaids."
Throughout his career, Riehle garnered numerous awards at various international film festivals for his contributions to acting.
