Richard Hammond has found domestic tranquility in a Welsh market town with his new girlfriend, therapist Kiki Glen. The couple were recently photographed holding hands outside a Waitrose in Abergavenny, marking a new chapter for the former Top Gear host following his divorce from his wife of 23 years, Mindy Etheridge, in September 2024.
Hammond, 56, has relocated to a sprawling £2 million Georgian farmhouse in Wales earlier this year. Friends say the couple are taking their relationship slowly but are enjoying each other's company immensely. "He wasn't expecting to get into a relationship so quickly, but he's not complaining. It's early days, but they're happy to see where it goes with no pressure," a friend told the Daily Mail.
The TV personality revealed his new relationship earlier this month, describing a quieter lifestyle focused on cooking, running, walking, and enjoying the countryside. He and Glen are often seen out and about in Abergavenny, with locals noting their frequent visits to local pubs and shops.
Glen, whose real name is Keira, previously worked in finance and as a teacher before becoming a therapist. She also holds non-executive director and governor positions. She was previously married and has two daughters.
Hammond's new home is a six-bedroom Georgian manor near Hereford, where he runs a classic car restoration business. The property includes a tennis court and a wine cellar.
The divorce from Mindy Etheridge, with whom he was with for 28 years and married for 23, was announced in January 2025. In an episode of his Discovery+ series, "Richard Hammond's Workshop," he acknowledged the marriage's end, stating, "Get something out of the way, straight away – there has been a slight change in my circumstances recently… I got divorced."
The divorce followed a challenging period for Hammond, including the end of "The Grand Tour" series and the death of his father. Insiders suggest that the physical and mental toll from his serious on-set car crashes, including a 2006 incident that left him in a coma and a 2017 crash where he fractured his knee, may have impacted his relationship with Etheridge.
