Richard Hammond Embraces New Chapter in Wales Amid Personal Changes

Richard Hammond, formerly of the popular automotive show Top Gear, is rebuilding his life in Wales after a period of significant personal change.

At the beginning of 2025, Hammond and his wife Mindy, with whom he has two children, announced their separation. This news followed closely on the heels of his father's death from cancer, which occurred just three months prior. Around the same time, the final episode of "The Grand Tour" aired, marking the end of his 22-year broadcasting career alongside Jeremy Clarkson and James May.

Since these events, Hammond has relocated and is reportedly feeling re-energized. "I'm now far braver and do things I would never have done," he stated.

His new life in Wales includes joining an Abergavenny running club, where he has improved his 5k time to under 25 minutes. He has also taken up open water swimming, participating in events in the Lake District. These new activities are in keeping with his new relationship with Keira "Kiki" Glen, who participated in a triathlon. "Basically, she did a triathlon and I went to support her," Hammond told The Telegraph. "They were all having such a great time and buzzing afterwards, so I signed up for next year and got swept along."

While classic cars and motorsports remain part of his life, Hammond's priorities have shifted. Instead of attending events like the Goodwood Revival festival, he has been seen sampling local produce at the Abergavenny Food Festival.

In November 2025, Hammond purchased a 19th-century Georgian mansion near Abergavenny, signifying a deeper commitment to his new Welsh home.
