Rich Eisen Loses Bet to George Kittle, Wears Iowa Helmet on Air
The 'Rich Eisen Show' host donned his rival team's headgear after the Hawkeyes' upset victory over Michigan.
Rich Eisen, host of "The Rich Eisen Show," found himself on the losing end of a college football bet with San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle. Following the Iowa Hawkeyes' dramatic 20-19 victory over Michigan on Saturday, Eisen was compelled to wear an Iowa helmet during his show.
Eisen, an alumnus of the University of Michigan, expressed his reluctant admiration for the Hawkeyes. "Boy, do I love Iowa Hawkeyes football," he stated on air, going on to praise the team's consistent coaching under Kirk Ferentz and defensive play. He also highlighted the program's culture, including the "Iowa wave" tradition and its support for America's farmers.
The game-winning play for Iowa came in the final moments when wide receiver Reece Vander Zee caught a tipped pass in the end zone. Eisen and his co-host debated the decisive plays, with Eisen attributing Michigan's loss partly to the tipped passes.
This is not the first time Kittle has won a bet involving the Iowa Hawkeyes this season. Previously, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was required to wear an Iowa shirt and hat to a press conference after a lost wager.
Kittle, whose team is currently 3-0, appears to be enjoying success both on and off the field this season.
