Ric Flair Hospitalized After Fall, Hours After Announcing Blood Clot Diagnosis
The wrestling legend fell and injured his face at a restaurant in Tampa, Florida.
WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair, 77, was hospitalized in Tampa, Florida, after falling and sustaining facial injuries. The incident occurred hours after Flair announced he was dealing with a blood clot in his leg and had to cancel an upcoming appearance.
According to reports, Flair was at a restaurant on Friday morning when he went outside and "suddenly fell and injured his face," cutting his head and eye. He was transported to the hospital via ambulance.
Earlier on Friday, Flair had informed fans via social media that he was canceling his appearance at the Washington State Horror Con in Seattle due to his health. He explained that his doctors had limited his travel to three to four hours due to the blood clot in his leg, making the Seattle trip impossible.
Flair emphasized the seriousness of blood clots, citing Jalen Hurts' recent health complications as an example, and stated his intention to follow medical advice. He also mentioned that he was scheduled for a procedure to treat the affected vein, expressing hope that it would allow him to resume traveling.
This is not the first time Flair has faced significant health challenges. In May, he revealed he was dealing with unspecified "health issues." In 2017, he was placed in a medically induced coma due to multiple organ failure.
