Ric Flair Hospitalized After Fall; Health Concerns Mount for Wrestling Legend

Pro wrestling icon Ric Flair, 77, was hospitalized in Tampa following a fall that left him with facial injuries and a possible concussion. Flair shared an update on social media Saturday, posting a selfie that showed him wearing an eyepatch as he continues his recovery.

The incident occurred the day prior when Flair reportedly fell outside a restaurant in Tampa. He was subsequently taken to Tampa General Hospital.

Hours before the fall, Flair announced he would be unable to attend a scheduled appearance in Seattle due to a blood clot in his leg, which necessitated a limitation on his travel.

"My Doctors have limited my travel to 3-4 hours. Seattle falls outside that range, and as disappointed as I am, I have to put my health and recovery first," Flair stated on X, formerly Twitter. "Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening."

He added that he was slated to undergo surgery on the affected vein, expressing optimism that it would allow him to resume travel. Flair conveyed his gratitude to the hospital staff and doctors for their care and assured his fans he was focused on healing.

Flair, a WWE Hall of Famer inducted in 2008, has had a career spanning decades, including multiple world championship reigns in WCW, NWA, and WWE. His final match, billed as his "Last Match," took place in 2022. He also made an appearance in All Elite Wrestling in 2023.

This hospitalization adds to a history of health challenges for the wrestling legend, who has previously battled health and alcohol-related issues.
