Residents were compelled to evacuate an apartment building on the Gold Coast on Tuesday after a fire erupted on a balcony. Emergency services were dispatched to the Pacific Keys Central Building in Mermaid Waters around 10 a.m.
A witness captured footage from a neighboring building, which was posted on social media, showing flames emanating from a unit partway up the tower. The extent of the damage and the cause of the fire were not immediately clear.
