Republican Representatives Beth Van Duyne and Rich McCormick End Relationship
The pair, who had been romantically involved for over two years, have decided to part ways but wish to remain friends.

Reps. Beth Van Duyne (R-Texas) and Rich McCormick (R-Ga.) have ended their relationship after more than two years of dating on Capitol Hill. The couple, who had been together since at least the summer of 2024, intend to remain friends, according to TMZ, which first reported on their split.
“I have a great relationship with her and will continue to strive to be the best friend I can be,” McCormick, 57, told the outlet. It remains unclear what specifically led to their breakup or when it occurred.
Representatives for Van Duyne and McCormick did not immediately respond to requests for comment. In May 2024, Van Duyne, 55, confirmed she was "happily engaged in a relationship" with McCormick. At that time, McCormick had recently filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years.
Sources indicated at the time that the lawmakers had been dating for over a year, with instances of them holding hands under a table during a Republican lunch before their relationship became public. The couple was reportedly seen walking together outside the Capitol Building as recently as July.
McCormick previously commented on the challenges of navigating relationships in Washington, D.C., stating, “Relationships are tricky to begin with, right? But DC makes it easy.”
