The Republican Party will host its first-ever Midterm Convention in Dallas, Texas, on September 9 and 10, according to an announcement made by former President Donald Trump on Truth Social. The two-day event is intended to celebrate the "great American comeback" and highlight the ongoing achievements of the administration's America First Agenda.
Trump, who described Dallas as one of his favorite places, stated in his announcement that the convention "has never been done before, and will be a truly Historic Event." He also touted a list of policy achievements that will be a focal point of the convention, including efforts related to tax cuts, border security, and community safety.
Additional highlights of the convention will reportedly include discussions on American energy dominance, efforts to lower oil prices, progress on denuclearizing Iran, and initiatives to improve affordability for Americans. Trump asserted that "We are delivering on the promises that politicians talked about for decades, but never got done."
The convention is also expected to feature "lots of great entertainment" and will spotlight the nation's first responders, innovators, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, and job creators. Trump characterized the gathering as a "rally like none other."
