Republican Anthony Constantino declared victory late Tuesday in the race to succeed Rep. Elise Stefanik in New York's 21st Congressional District. By early Wednesday, he had turned his focus to attacking state Republican Party leadership on social media.
"NY-21 Republican Chairs are objectively a group of scammers," Constantino wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "They all opposed me during the primary and behind the scenes during the General Election. I won despite them while [Democrat] Blake [Gendebien] was propped up by Evil Media and the Democrat Machine."
Constantino also targeted specific party figures, calling state Senate Minority Leader Jim Tedisco a "racist asshole" and Assemblyman Matt Simpson a "sloppy racist loser and weak RINO." He further criticized gubernatorial nominee Bruce Blakeman and called for the firing of NY GOP Chairman Ed Cox.
Constantino's broadside included accusations that the New York Republican Party is "mostly a Con Job that helps Democrats win."
The race for the NY-21 seat had not been called by the Associated Press as of Wednesday morning, and Gendebien had not conceded.
