Road closures were put in place around the Chesterfield Canal and Raglan Road in Retford on Monday after a suspicious item was discovered. Nottinghamshire Police established a cordon as a precautionary measure.
On Tuesday, the force announced that the item was a replica grenade, specifically a training device. The device was safely removed, and all associated road closures were lifted. Police stated there was no threat to the public during the incident and thanked residents for their patience and cooperation. The area is now clear and open for normal use.
