U.S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, was hospitalized Sunday morning after the vehicle she was traveling in was struck in a hit-and-run incident near Toledo. Her office confirmed that Kaptur was on her way to a church service at the time of the collision.
Kaptur is currently being treated for injuries that her office described as not life-threatening. A statement from her office indicated she is active and alert. The Toledo Police Department is investigating the crash.
"We look forward to additional information from Toledo Police as they investigate the accident," Kaptur's office said in a statement.
