Rep. Lauren Boebert’s eldest son, Tyler Boebert, 21, was arrested Sunday in Colorado on felony child sexual exploitation charges. The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office took Tyler Boebert into custody on an arrest warrant for "sexual exploitation of a child and multiple other charges," the office stated.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and a felony review by the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. Tyler Boebert was released from county jail after posting a $10,000 bond.

According to reports, Tyler Boebert could face up to five felonies, including sexual exploitation of a child, child exploitation with intent to distribute sexually exploitative material, a charge related to videotaped material, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. These charges reportedly stem from an incident that occurred in early 2024.

Court records indicate Tyler Boebert has a court appearance scheduled for Aug. 19 in Garfield County. He has had previous legal issues since turning 18.

In 2024, he was charged with 22 criminal offenses, including five felonies, related to alleged thefts in Colorado. He pleaded guilty to one count of attempted identity theft in October of that year, with the remaining charges dismissed as part of a plea agreement that included a two-year deferred judgment and 80 hours of community service.

In 2025, he was charged with misdemeanor child abuse, which Rep. Boebert attributed to a "miscommunication on monitoring my young grandson that recently led to him getting out of our house." Earlier this year, Tyler Boebert faced another child abuse charge after allegedly allowing his two-year-old son to leave the congresswoman's home for a second time.

"I love my son," Rep. Boebert said in a statement. "We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time."
