Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has declined to answer questions from Fox News Digital regarding revised financial disclosures that significantly reduce the reported value of her and her husband's assets, potentially indicating a negative net worth.

The congresswoman remained silent when pressed about whether her husband still operates his consulting business and wine business, after previous filings showed these ventures valued in the millions.

Revised financial disclosure reports for 2025 now list the maximum value of shared assets between Omar and her husband, Tim Mynett, at $125,000. This marks a substantial decrease from the previous year's reports, which estimated their combined assets to be between $6 million and $30 million.

According to the latest filings, the lower estimate of their assets, $20,000, compared to debt estimates of $30,000 to $100,000, could imply a negative net worth for the Minnesota Democrat. Both Omar and Mynett also have separate debts listed, ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 each, including Omar's student loans and Mynett's credit card debt.

The most significant changes in the revised documents involve Mynett's business interests. His reported ownership in his winery and venture capital advisory firm, previously valued between $1 million and $5 million for the winery and $5 million to $25 million for the firm, are now listed with no value.

Omar's office had previously explained that the earlier disclosures mistakenly reflected the total equity of the businesses rather than Mynett's ownership stake, and that initial filings did not account for liabilities. They stated that Mynett has partners in both businesses.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., has indicated interest in the Ethics Committee investigating Omar's personal finances following the release of the 2025 reports. Separately, Vice President JD Vance has mentioned that the Department of Justice may be opening a probe into alleged fraud as part of an administration anti-fraud taskforce, though no formal investigations have been publicly announced.

Omar has been consistently reluctant to address questions from Fox News Digital concerning her financial disclosures and potential investigations. Last month, she similarly avoided answering questions about the revised filings, responding at one point with a comment about the possibility of rain.
