Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., declined to answer questions regarding a police raid on her son's Minneapolis home, where multiple weapons and ammunition were found. The search warrant was executed on August 25 after her son Adnan Hirsi's roommate, Abdulrahman Abdi, was arrested during a traffic stop and a firearm was subsequently discovered.

Minneapolis police officers found the weapons and ammunition while executing the search warrant at the shared residence of Hirsi, 20, and Abdi, 22. Abdi, a convicted felon, is prohibited from legally possessing firearms. Hirsi is not accused of any wrongdoing in connection with the incident.

Abdi was initially pulled over for a routine traffic violation and found to have no driver's license or proof of insurance. His vehicle was impounded, and a firearm was later found. This led to the execution of the search warrant on the property he shares with Hirsi.

Abdi, who faces a weapons charge, was released the day after his arrest. Records indicate he has been arrested 10 times previously, with a felony speeding conviction from 2024 for driving over 100 mph.

Omar, who has previously advocated for stricter gun control measures, including universal background checks and red flag laws, and has voted in favor of legislation to ban assault-style weapons, did not respond to questions from reporters on Capitol Hill about the incident. Her office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
