Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., is currently under an active criminal investigation by the Department of Justice, according to a source familiar with the matter who spoke to Fox News. The specifics of the DOJ's investigation have not been publicly disclosed.

Mills is also facing a separate inquiry by the House Ethics Committee. This investigation, which began in November 2025, involves allegations of sexual misconduct and dating violence, stemming from an incident in February 2025, and a separate accusation of blackmail from July 2025, where he allegedly threatened to release explicit images of a former partner.

The House Ethics Committee confirmed in April that its probe was ongoing, without providing a specific timeline for its conclusion. Mills has denied any wrongdoing in relation to these allegations and has not been charged with any crimes.

In April, Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., filed a motion to expel Mills. The resolution detailed charges including misrepresenting his military service, sexual misconduct, campaign finance violations, and alleged illicit involvement in federal contracts while serving as a member of Congress.

Mills, who serves on the House Armed Services and Intelligence committees, was first elected to the House in 2022 and was re-elected in 2024. He is currently seeking a third term in the House of Representatives.
