Tyler Boebert, 21, the son of Colorado Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, has been released on a $10,000 bond following his indictment on multiple felony charges, including those related to sexual exploitation of a child. Court records filed on August 6, 2026, indicate Tyler faces three felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child, including a video charge, with alleged incidents occurring on January 1, 2024. He also faces two misdemeanor charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to the documents, Tyler Boebert was released on August 9 and is scheduled to appear in Garfield County District Court on August 19. He has not yet entered a plea. The congresswoman released a statement, saying, "I love my son. We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time."
This is not Tyler Boebert's first encounter with the legal system. In February 2026, he was charged with misdemeanor child abuse. At that time, he was accused of leaving his two-year-old son unattended at Lauren Boebert's home in Windsor, Colorado. The toddler reportedly wandered away from the residence before being found and secured by a neighbor. Representative Boebert commented on the earlier incident, stating there was "no excuse" for her son's actions and expressing frustration.
Lauren Boebert, her son Tyler when he was 18, and her grandson were previously seen together on Capitol Hill. She has often brought her grandson to Washington D.C. with her.
Tyler Jay Boebert was also subject to a mugshot taken by the Rifle Police Department on February 27, 2024.
