A registered sex offender was arrested Friday night in Santa Rosa, California, after allegedly terrorizing residents by peeping into one home and then forcing his way into another, trapping occupants inside.

Edward Carver, 36, was taken into custody by Santa Rosa police shortly before 11 p.m. on suspicion of burglary, false imprisonment, and peeking while loitering, among other charges. According to police, Carver repeatedly closed the front door of the residence he entered, preventing residents from escaping.
