Reform UK has received a second donation of £36 million in two days, bringing the total from two separate contributions to £72 million. This influx of funds represents more than all UK political parties received in the entirety of the previous year.
Cryptocurrency investor Christopher Harborne announced his donation, stating he has matched a record-breaking contribution made by Ben Delo late on Friday. Harborne, who resides in Thailand, described his motivation as a "competitive spirit" to equal Delo's donation, which was previously the largest ever given to a UK political party.
Harborne indicated he expects "nothing personally" in return for his contribution, only "a party that is ready for government."
