Reform UK Internal Inquiry Finds No Breach of Electoral Law in Donations Case

An internal investigation by Reform UK has concluded that the party did not breach electoral law concerning discussions about securing foreign donations. The inquiry was launched after undercover filming by Verbatim Investigations appeared to show senior party officials suggesting ways to circumvent rules on foreign funding.

Two officials, Nigel Farage's senior aide Dan Jukes and Reform's head of policy James Orr, had stepped down pending the outcome of the internal investigation. The inquiry found that neither official committed any illegal act. However, the Metropolitan Police are conducting a separate criminal investigation into Reform UK over allegations that it violated foreign funding laws.

The allegations surfaced following the broadcast of undercover footage by Channel 4 News, which reportedly captured Jukes and Orr discussing a potential £500,000 foreign donation. Reform UK has stated that it will await the conclusion of the police investigation before determining the future roles of Jukes and Orr within the party.
