Reese Witherspoon Celebrates Son Deacon's Film Debut Alongside Family at Nashville Premiere
The actress, her daughter Ava, mother Betty, and son Deacon attended the premiere of his film 'Brother Save Us' at the Nashville Film Festival.
Reese Witherspoon appeared at the Brother Save Us movie premiere on Saturday night to support her son, Deacon Phillippe, at the 57th Nashville Film Festival. The 50-year-old actress was accompanied by her daughter Ava, 27, and her mother, Betty, 78.
Witherspoon wore a strapless white top and black trousers. Ava attended in a striped, low-cut beige mini dress and white platform heels. Betty was seen in a dark grey jacket, a colorful Gucci neckerchief, and a black skirt.
Deacon, 22, arrived in a textured brown suit paired with a see-through brown shirt. He is credited as a producer on "Brother Save Us," a film directed and written by Jesse Behrenwald. The movie is described as being set on a farm in a dystopian Midwest where brothers Cole and Nat navigate a world where crops are failing. The synopsis indicates that their lives change after their father purchases an AI farm bot from a company called Agentico.
Witherspoon shares Deacon and Ava with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, from whom she divorced in 2008 after nine years of marriage. Witherspoon later married Jim Toth in 2011, with whom she has a son, Tennessee, 14. Witherspoon and Toth announced their separation in 2023.
Deacon graduated from New York University in May, with Witherspoon sharing her pride on Instagram. In a recent interview with Variety, Deacon addressed his status as a child of famous parents, stating, "I acknowledge that I'm extremely lucky, but you know, at the same time, I hold myself to a standard. I'm not really looking to prove anything to anyone but myself to try to be the best version I can be, the best person I can be and work as hard as I can."
