Ree Drummond's Foster Son Detained for Biting Officer Months Before Assault Arrest

Jamar Goff, the 23-year-old foster son of "The Pioneer Woman" star Ree Drummond, was detained for allegedly biting a detention or correctional officer's hand in May 2025, months before his September arrest for assault and drug possession.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Goff listed a phone number connected to Drummond, 57, as his family contact and identified her as his foster parent. At the time of the May 2025 incident, Goff was reportedly homeless and employed at McDonald's.

Details surrounding Goff's May 2025 arrest were not immediately available. However, his legal troubles escalated in September 2026. On September 15, Goff was arrested at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for allegedly assaulting a police officer, possession of 1.8 grams of methamphetamine, attempting to elude an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities stated that Goff, who was found shirtless and asleep near a campus fountain, allegedly said he was waiting to purchase "ice," a slang term for methamphetamine. When officers attempted to detain him, he reportedly fled and struck one of the officers.

Goff was booked into the Jefferson County Jail with bail set at $37,000. Ree Drummond, who fostered Goff with her husband Ladd Drummond in 2018 when he was a teenager, has not publicly commented on her foster son's legal issues. The Food Network host also has four biological children: Alex, Paige, Bryce, and Todd.
