Ree Drummond's Foster Son Arrested on Assault, Drug Charges

Jamar Goff, the 23-year-old foster son of "Pioneer Woman" Ree Drummond, was arrested on September 15 on charges including assault on a police officer and drug possession. He was taken into custody at Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham, Alabama, around 2:30 a.m., according to jail records.

Goff faces charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance; possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia; attempting to elude a police officer; and aggravated assault on a police officer. His bond was set at $37,000.

According to legal documents, police responded to the University of Alabama at Birmingham following a report of a suspicious person. An officer found Goff shirtless and asleep by a fountain. Goff reportedly told the officer he was waiting for someone to sell him methamphetamine.

When the officer discovered an active arrest warrant for Goff, he attempted to handcuff him. Goff then fled on foot, heading toward a nearby medical facility. The report states that Goff then struck the officer with an open-handed palm strike.

Authorities found approximately 1.8 grams of methamphetamine and a glass pipe in Goff's backpack during a subsequent search. Officials noted in legal documents that Goff is currently homeless.

Ree Drummond and her husband Ladd became Goff's foster parents in 2018. Drummond, a Food Network personality and author, has previously spoken about Goff on her blog, referring to him as an "inextricable part of our wacky family."
