A former reality television personality and his billionaire heiress wife are facing a lawsuit alleging they swindled a close friend out of $2 million. Brendan Fitzpatrick, 37, a former star of "Rich Kids of Beverly Hills," and his wife, Chloe, are accused of reneging on a loan repayment agreement after allegedly begging a friend for funds for a real estate project in the United Kingdom.

According to the lawsuit, Fitzpatrick made "desperate pleas" to his wealthy friend, Max Jan Fowles-Pazdro, for the loan. After securing the money, Fitzpatrick pledged to begin repayment within six weeks. However, the suit claims that no payment has been made in the two years since the loan was provided.

The lawsuit further alleges that Brendan and Chloe Fitzpatrick, whose wife is the daughter of a Canadian billionaire, have continued to present themselves as living a luxurious lifestyle. Court records reportedly highlight a social media post showing the couple on a yacht in the Mediterranean.

Fowles-Pazdro claims the Fitzpatricks repeatedly promised repayment, at times stating they would seek funds from Chloe Fitzpatrick's mother, Sophie, who is the daughter of former Power Corporation of Canada chairman Paul Desmarais. Communications cited in the suit suggest the Fitzpatricks conveyed a sense of urgency, with one message stating, "We get funds by 2 or I will get them from her. I will say it’s life or death."

The Fowles-Pazdros were reportedly called "family" by the Fitzpatricks in other communications, with assurances of prompt repayment. The suit also states that the Fitzpatricks allegedly offered to repay double the loaned amount, $4 million, which also did not materialize.

According to the lawsuit, Fowles-Pazdro and his legal team state that the Fitzpatricks were friends from Los Angeles and later developed a closer bond in Miami. In the summer of 2024, the Fitzpatricks reportedly invited the Fowles-Pazdros to spend time with them in a rental property in the south of France, and later visited Chloe's mother's home in Montreal.

In January 2025, Brendan Fitzpatrick allegedly requested 1.3 million euros for the UK real estate venture. The Fowles-Pazdros reportedly provided these funds and additionally guaranteed a £10.5 million loan.

The lack of repayment has allegedly resulted in the Fowles-Pazdros receiving default notices on properties, losing a critical line of credit, and being forced to sell a property to cover their debts. Fowles-Pazdro is seeking damages, including attorney's fees and the original loan amount plus interest.

Separately, Brendan Fitzpatrick is reportedly involved in litigation concerning an alleged Ponzi scheme. His Sri Lanka-based mining venture, Carbonatik, is accused of being a front that advertised investment returns of 120% without actually existing, allegedly defrauding victims of over $80 million.
