Heather Boyd, a participant in TLC's new reality series "Double Lives of Suburban Wives," revealed that her secret adult content side hustle led to her dismissal from a corporate job. Boyd, who stars in the show alongside five other St. Louis-area couples exploring lucrative, unconventional second lives, told Fox News Digital that she had been working to build a conventional suburban life, including a family and a career.
Boyd, 37, described struggling with her body image after the birth of her youngest child, which prompted her husband, Shawn, to suggest they create an adult content account for fun. One of their initial posts gained significant traction, leading Boyd to take over the account and explore monetizing it. She was working as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) at the time, a role she found physically demanding and underpaid. "Because I was working as a CNA... CNAs do a lot of hard work, but they don’t get that pay from it," Boyd explained.
Her foray into adult content began with a lingerie video, which quickly earned her $100, a surprising outcome that made her believe the venture could be profitable. In her most successful month, Boyd reported earning approximately $5,000.
To maintain secrecy, Boyd and her husband created content in a locked room in their home, which their four children believed was her office for her corporate job. "My husband just let them know, like, ‘that’s your mom’s office,’ Boyd said. "'You can’t go in there.'" The couple also kept their adult content business separate from their children. "They thought it was for my corporate job that I had to go down there sometimes and work after hours, which was true," she added. "I did have to work after hours there. But it’s always been locked."
Despite the professional fallout, Boyd expressed no regrets about participating in the reality series. "And, you know, doing the show is absolutely not anything I regret," she said. "I am so glad that I did it."
