Reality Star Trent Woolman Suffers Severe Burns in Bonfire Accident
Love Island Australia contestant airlifted to Melbourne hospital with third-degree burns to arms, mouth, and airways, complicated by brain bleeds.
Reality television personality Trent Woolman has been hospitalized after sustaining severe burns from falling into a bonfire. The incident occurred at his sister's rural property in Inverleigh, Victoria, where Woolman was cleaning up.
Woolman, known for his appearance on Love Island Australia, described the ordeal to Daily Mail, stating he became stuck in the flames and managed to crawl back to his sister's house for assistance. His sister immediately called for help, and emergency services, including MICA intensive care paramedics, responded. Due to the severity of his injuries, which included burns to his mouth, arms, and airways, a helicopter was dispatched to airlift him to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne.
While Woolman was being treated, doctors discovered bleeding on his brain and a cyst, which led to a delay in scheduled skin graft surgeries for his arms. He has since undergone skin grafts but remains hospitalized, anticipating at least another two weeks of recovery. Woolman stated that he was sober at the time of the accident and was working alone when the fall occurred.
Woolman is also reportedly slated to make a cameo appearance on the upcoming season of Married At First Sight, having been seen attending the wedding of Love Island co-star Zac Nunns.
