Reality star Georgia Love has become the target of online abuse from fans of the HYROX extreme fitness competition after she publicly criticized the event. Love shared her "disdain" for what she described as a "toxic" challenge, particularly in light of a recent incident where an athlete continued to race after experiencing bowel incontinence.

The controversy began after Australian athlete Joanna Wietrzyk competed despite an incident involving fecal matter running down her legs during a HYROX event in Beijing. The competition, which combines running with eight strenuous workout stations, has seen a surge in popularity, attracting a dedicated fanbase.

In response to the influx of negative messages on Instagram, Love addressed her critics, stating, "The unhinged and abusive messages I'm getting from HYROX people who don't even follow me is very funny to me." She concluded her statement with "Keep pumping that iron(y), dolls."

HYROX co-founder Moritz Fürste has since apologized for the incident and announced that the company is implementing changes to its event procedures and rulebook to prevent similar occurrences. "We learn and try to get better every day," Fürste stated. Wietrzyk herself later posted from the hospital, thanking supporters and vowing to return to competition.
