Bec Zacharia, a contestant from the reality show Married At First Sight, has spoken out about not receiving an invitation to the recent wedding of billionaire heiress Francesca Packer. Zacharia described the situation as devastating, though she admitted she was not entirely surprised by the snub but was saddened by the fading of their once-close friendship.
Zacharia told the Daily Mail that she and Packer were friends "back in the day" and spent considerable time together when Zacharia lived in London between 2015 and 2022. She recalled Packer's generosity during their friendship, stating that Packer often hosted her at her family's home and paid for trips to Coachella, including VIP tickets and accommodations.
"Chess was always so giving and had me over to stay at Ros and Kerry's house in Hyde Park all the time and even flew me to Coachella and paid for everything from London including VIP tickets and VIP glamping," Zacharia said.
She explained that her connection to Packer began when Packer was dating Zacharia's cousin, Sam. Zacharia also shared an anecdote about Packer arranging for a man she was dating from Sydney to surprise her at Coachella, underscoring the extent of their past closeness.
Despite these memories, Zacharia acknowledged that the friendship had naturally drifted apart over the last five years. "We lost touch about five years ago so not surprised I wasn't invited at all but am so happy for her that she found her happily ever after!!!!" she stated.
Packer married her partner Robert Bates in a multi-day celebration at the La Fortaleza estate in Mallorca, Spain. The heiress wore an ice-blue couture gown for the ceremony, while her groom donned a cream dinner jacket. The wedding festivities reportedly included family and close friends, with guests arriving by superyacht.
