Reality Star Officiates Sister's Wedding Featuring Blood Ritual
Jessi Draper, star of 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,' officiated a wedding ceremony that included the bride and groom drinking from a shared cup of their own blood.
Jessi Draper, known for her role in the reality series 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,' officiated her sister Kiera Draper Lewis's wedding to Payton Lewis, a ceremony that incorporated a unique ritual involving the couple drinking from a shared cup containing their blood. During the ceremony, Draper instructed the newlyweds to prick their fingers, allow their blood to mix in a silver goblet, and then drink from it, stating, "Drink and receive the life, love and truth of one another."
Draper, 34, served as the officiant for two wedding ceremonies for Kiera, 31, and Payton Lewis. The first legal ceremony took place on August 1, followed by a destination wedding in Tuscany on August 26. Videos shared on social media captured the ritual, where the couple exchanged vows and participated in a hand-fasting ceremony, symbolizing their union.
During the blood ritual, Draper explained its significance: "By the deepest covenant two souls can make, the sharing of blood." She further elaborated on the symbolic meaning, noting, "Blood has been recognized as the sacred carrier of spirit. It holds your history, your ancestors, and your very essence. Your individual lives have entered this cup. Drink and receive the life, love and truth of one another."
The nuptials occurred shortly after Draper finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, after five years of marriage. The divorce was finalized on September 11, with Ngatikaura having initially filed in March. Draper has since been navigating a new romantic relationship with Marciano Brunette, which is reportedly becoming serious. The couple met in Italy in August 2024 and made their red carpet debut in May. Despite a period where their connection was described as an emotional affair on the show, they appear to be committed, with plans for Brunette to move in with Draper part-time at her new home in Utah.
In addition to her wedding officiating duties, Draper has also been open about her personal life, including cosmetic surgery procedures and her current relationship. She shares two children with her ex-husband and has indicated she is open to having more children with Brunette. Sources suggest she is in a good place, living life on her own terms following the finalization of her divorce.
