Reality Star Faces Backlash for JFK Assassination Halloween Costume
McCall DaPron's choice to dress her family as the Kennedys on the day of the assassination sparks criticism for being 'appallingly distasteful.'
Reality television personality McCall DaPron has drawn widespread criticism for her family's Halloween costume, which depicted the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
DaPron, set to appear in the upcoming series 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County,' dressed as Jackie Kennedy, sporting a pink skirt suit and pillbox hat reminiscent of the former First Lady's attire on November 22, 1963. Her husband portrayed President Kennedy, while their children were costumed as Kennedy children and Secret Service agents.
Images shared on Instagram by DaPron elicited strong negative reactions, with many users labeling the costumes as 'distasteful' and 'insensitive.' One commenter stated that dressing as a woman on "the scariest day of her life" was "appallingly distasteful."
DaPron subsequently disabled comments on her Instagram post but left the photos visible. The controversy emerges just before her debut on 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County,' which is scheduled to premiere on Hulu on November 12.
This incident follows other celebrity Halloween costume controversies. Earlier, Paris Hilton faced criticism for dressing as Belle from 'Beauty and the Beast' while her children were costumed as supporting characters. Hilton defended her choices, stating her children had requested the costumes.
