Reality Star Defends 'Partying' During Kid-Free Time Amid Online Criticism

Reality star Tara Pavlovic has addressed criticism suggesting she prioritizes partying over her parental responsibilities when her children are not in her care. Pavlovic, who shares a 50/50 custody agreement for her two young children with ex-husband Nick, faced backlash after sharing social media content that included her engaging in leisure activities during her designated child-free time.
Pavlovic's plans to attend upcoming concerts by artists such as Foo Fighters, Dom Dolla, and Jimmy Eat World drew sharp comments from some online users. One critic wrote, "Doesn't seem to mind her free time dating and partying. So yep, maybe could have tried harder to make the marriage work."
In response, Pavlovic posted a video clip defending her choices, asserting her right to enjoy her personal time as she sees fit and urging others against making hasty judgments. "I could sit at home and mourn the life I thought I'd have... or I could go out and live the one I actually have," she stated.
She further explained that her apparent contentment stems from prioritizing self-care and actively working to be her best self while managing her custody arrangements for her children, Paddy, four, and Edi-Rae, three. "Me being fine is a choice I have made," Pavlovic said. "I can choose to cry and dwell on things or to pull myself out and go to something positive." She added, "I'm the type of person that makes every f***ing situation more positive! For this separation, I could be sitting here bawling my eyes out, going why is it happening to me... But I'm not going to do that, I am going to go to a concert and live my life as best I can with the cards I have been dealt."
Fellow reality television personality Belinda Love offered support in the comments, stating, "You think it's 'selfish' to be single. It's selfish to stay in an unhealthy relationship that your kids are witnessing, that teaches them this is the norm."
Pavlovic announced her separation from her husband in April, describing it as a "last resort" after a year of marital difficulties. "I know there's been a lot of speculation about what's been going on in my life lately, so I wanted to share this in my own words. Nick and I have separated," she wrote at the time.
Pavlovic and Nick married in September 2020, following a postponement due to the pandemic. They made their relationship public in August 2018, shortly after reports surfaced of her separation from Sam Cochrane, her fiancé from "The Bachelor in Paradise." Pavlovic gained public recognition on Matty 'J' Johnson's season of "The Bachelor" in 2017.
