Alexia Umansky, a reality television personality, has publicly supported Collin Gosselin as he prepares to release his memoir detailing his childhood experiences.

Umansky, daughter of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Kyle Richards, shared her endorsement of Gosselin's upcoming book, "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood," on social media. The memoir is scheduled for release on October 13.

"So proud of @collingosselin1 and everything he’s standing up for," Umansky wrote on Instagram, adding, "Proud to call him my friend." She also shared a photograph of the book's cover, encouraging her followers to read Gosselin's story.

The Gosselin family gained prominence through the TLC series "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which documented the lives of Jon and Kate Gosselin and their eight children. Collin Gosselin has previously made accusations of child abuse and exploitation against his mother, claims that Kate Gosselin has denied. Her legal representative has stated that she acted to protect herself and her family from his behavior.

According to the publisher's description, Gosselin's memoir will recount his experiences, including being held down and hidden in a basement, as well as being administered antipsychotic medication as a child. Last month, Kate Gosselin referred to her son as "mentally ill" in response to a social media comment.

Jon Gosselin received sole custody of Collin in 2018. The book promises to share his narrative of escaping and recovering from a challenging upbringing.
