Rays on Brink of World Series Berth in ALCS Game 6 vs. Guardians
Tampa Bay holds a 3-2 series lead and can clinch its first World Series appearance since 2020 with a win tonight.
The Tampa Bay Rays are one victory away from securing a spot in the 2026 World Series. Their next hurdle is the Cleveland Guardians in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series on Tuesday, October 19.
Tonight's game is scheduled to begin at 8:08 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TBS. For fans without cable, the game can be streamed live for free through a five-day trial of DIRECTV.
The Rays enter Game 6 with a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-seven series, having won two crucial road games at Cleveland's Progressive Field. First baseman Jonathan Aranda has been a key contributor for Tampa Bay in their recent success, recovering from an 0-for-11 slump to record five hits in his last eight at-bats.
Tampa Bay's starting pitcher for Game 6 is Freddy Peralta, who is pitching on one day's rest after appearing in relief during Game 4. The Guardians will counter with a bullpen game, starting reliever Shawn Armstrong, who also pitched in relief on one day's rest.
The series returns to St. Petersburg, Florida, for Game 6 at Tropicana Field. Should the Guardians force a Game 7, it would be played on Wednesday, October 20, also at 8 p.m. ET on TBS.
