Raye Denies Michael B. Jordan Romance Rumors: 'Just Friends Who Like Roller Coasters'
The British singer addressed speculation about a relationship with the actor, fueled by a recent theme park outing.
Singer Raye has addressed rumors of a romantic relationship with actor Michael B. Jordan, stating they are simply friends who share a mutual enjoyment of theme parks.
The speculation intensified after the pair were photographed together at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California in August, with fan-shared videos and photos leading to relationship rumors. Raye, 28, clarified the nature of their outing during an appearance at the 2026 MTV VMAs in Los Angeles on Sunday.
"We're just friends who like roller coasters," Raye told Extra. She also hinted at a professional collaboration with Jordan, 39, on an undisclosed project, explaining that she is "sworn to secrecy."
Recent reports suggest Raye is contributing music to a soundtrack for a film in which Jordan is involved. While the specific project remains confidential, Jordan has a notable slate of upcoming films, including a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, Rainbow Six, and Miami Vice '85. His production company, Outlier Society, is also developing Methuselah, I Am Legend 2, and Creed 4.
Jordan's most recent public relationship was with model Lori Harvey, which concluded four years ago. Raye has previously been linked to Drake and Lewis Hamilton.
In a separate, more personal matter, Raye recently shared a humorous TikTok video highlighting a custom blue plaque placed at a pub in south London. The plaque humorously commemorates "RAYE experienced the greatest heartbreak she has ever known here 27 February 2019," a reference to a past relationship.
Raye's single "Nightingale Lane" from her album "This Music May Contain Hope" also draws from this experience. She has spoken about the significant emotional impact of a past relationship that lasted two years and took her several years to recover from.
Speaking to Vogue in September 2025, Raye mentioned she had been single for an extended period following this "devastating break-up." She expressed a desire to wait until she finds "the love of her life" before starting her next album, which she has tentatively titled "And Then She Fell in Love."
