Former Brookside actor Ray Quinn has shared the heartbreaking news that his son Rio was stillborn on August 20. The singer and his partner discussed the loss on their YouTube channel, The Quinns.
Emily, 34, described the moment a nurse informed them there was no heartbeat during a scan at six months into the pregnancy. "Our whole world stopped," she said. "All our hopes and taking our little baby back to our renovated house just crashed before us."
The couple stated they are sharing their story in the hope that it might help others in similar situations. "Pregnancy and having children is a very special thing, but it does have risks and things can happen that you least expect. That's happened to us," Emily explained.
Baby Loss Awareness Week takes place annually from October 9 to 15.
