Ray J Hospitalized Amidst Livestream Marathon
The singer experienced a medical emergency during an 180-day streaming event.
Singer Ray J was hospitalized on Thursday after experiencing a medical emergency during a livestream marathon event. The 45-year-old artist, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., was participating in an 180-day streaming event called the RayHab Stream-a-Thon on the platform Kick when he became ill.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department were seen on scene attaching medical equipment to Ray J as he lay on a couch. Video obtained by TMZ appeared to indicate a possible heart issue, though sources told the outlet the incident was "strictly medical" and "there was nothing unusual or suspicious going on." He was later assisted by emergency services onto a gurney and taken to an ambulance, with his mother, Sonja Norwood, present and inquiring about his care.
The health crisis occurred during the ongoing livestream, which features unfiltered segments and guest appearances from various celebrities. This is not the first time the singer has faced health issues this year. In January, he was hospitalized for pneumonia and heart pain, and again in May after his heart rate slowed following a celebrity fight.
In April, Ray J made headlines when he claimed on the Funky Friday podcast that he had slept with over 12,000 women. He further elaborated on his sexual history, suggesting he had slept with three or more partners at once around 3,500 times and estimating he could only have a thousand more partners before reaching a self-imposed limit. He also referenced Wilt Chamberlain's alleged record of 25,000 partners.
Separately, Ray J and his ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian, along with her mother Kris Jenner, were recently involved in a legal dispute. Kardashian and Jenner lost a bid to keep details of a settlement agreement with Ray J sealed. The Kardashians had sued Ray J for defamation in October 2025, accusing him of a prolonged campaign alleging they were under federal criminal investigation for racketeering. Ray J countersued, claiming they violated a 2023 settlement agreement over a sex tape by discussing the topic on their reality show. A judge denied the Kardashians' request to seal documents related to the settlement, ordering them to file unredacted versions.
