Ravens Star Marlon Humphrey to Join Trump for Submarine Facility Announcement
The Baltimore Ravens cornerback will attend President Trump's event in Sparrows Point to announce a new submarine facility.
Star Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey will join President Trump on Tuesday for the announcement of a new submarine facility in Baltimore. Humphrey, a 10-year NFL veteran who has spent his entire career with the Ravens, will meet with Trump ahead of his remarks at Sparrows Point.
Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz stated that Humphrey is a "great talent, player, and leader for the Ravens" and is "widely respected in the locker room and the city of Baltimore."
Humphrey and Trump are expected to discuss Humphrey's charity work and their shared interest in football and golf. Other Ravens players are also anticipated to be present at the event.
The president is scheduled to appear at Tradepoint Atlantic, a large logistics and industrial center, to announce plans for a new $3.7 billion shipyard. This facility, which is expected to create 3,100 jobs, will be built in partnership with Anduril Industries. It will manufacture critical components for the Virginia-class submarine.
This announcement is part of the administration's effort to highlight its record on job creation and manufacturing ahead of the November midterm elections. The new shipyard will occupy approximately 2 million square feet on 187 acres.
This visit marks a rare appearance by the president in a blue state as part of a broader campaign swing to support Republican candidates in states like Texas, Alabama, and Nebraska. The White House is emphasizing its job creation record in blue-collar industries, particularly in manufacturing, which it asserts is experiencing a rebound.
Recent weeks have seen Trump announce other major industrial projects, including a new steel plant in Iowa and a natural gas pipeline in Alaska. In April 2025, the president signed an executive order aimed at revitalizing the nation's maritime industrial base, reflecting a desire to see the Navy increase its shipbuilding.
Tradepoint Atlantic is a significant industrial redevelopment site in the Baltimore region, formerly the location of Bethlehem Steel. The area has been redeveloped to include warehouses, manufacturing, and distribution operations. It also handles a substantial portion of the freight for the Port of Baltimore, one of the busiest ports in the United States.
