Rav Wilding, known for his work on the BBC's Morning Live, has announced the death of his mother, Pam. The television presenter and his family held her funeral on Wednesday, describing it as "the best send off" they could provide.

Pam Wilding, who was 80 years old, passed away on August 9, according to the order of service shared by Rav on Instagram. The order of service stated her birth date as May 11, 1946.

"Today we said a proper farewell to my mother," Rav, 48, wrote on Instagram. "A funeral of a parent is a day no son or daughter would ever want to have, but we gave her the best send off that we could and tried to do everything she would have wanted. Thanks for all the messages. Rest in peace now Mum."

Condolences have poured in from celebrity friends and fans. Catherine Tyldesley, an actress on Coronation Street, offered her sympathies, stating, "I'm so very sorry lovely. You're all in my prayers." TV personality Lizzie Cundy sent "huge love and strength." MasterChef host Anna Haugh wrote, "Oh Rav I'm so sorry. Thinking of you and your family."

Several followers also shared messages of support, with one commenting, "I feel your pain Rav! I lost my mum in Jan and it's the hardest pain. May your mum rest in peace now." Another wrote, "Big [hug] and love for you Rav. She looked like a beautiful and kind lady whom I'm sure you miss greatly. RIP XX."

This news follows a personal challenge for Wilding in 2023 when his marriage to Jill Morgan ended after 12 years. In a subsequent Instagram post, he confirmed their amicable separation, stating their priority was co-parenting their daughter, Poppy.

Taking to Instagram, Rav, 48, shared the order of service, which said on it that she passed away on August 9

Wilding and Morgan, a producer for BBC's Top Gear, married in Barbados in 2017. Their daughter Poppy was born three years later. The presenter, who began his career as a police officer, previously dated Chantelle Houghton, winner of Celebrity Big Brother 2006, with their relationship ending in 2011.

Rav captioned the post: 'Today we said a proper farewell to my mother. 'A funeral of a parent is a day no son or daughter would ever want to have, but we gave her the best send off'
