The "will-they-won't-they" dynamic between Quinn O'Grady (Minka Kelly) and Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) on the Netflix drama "Ransom Canyon" has reached a resolution, with the characters finally getting together by the end of Season 2. Both Kelly and Duhamel shared their enthusiasm for this payoff and discussed their hopes for the show's potential third season.

"I think it was time," Duhamel told Decider. "You can only do the will-they-won't-they for so long before you have to pay it off." He added that the show struck the right balance, always providing a reason for the characters' hesitations, whether due to fate or personal errors. For Staten, this involved overcoming ego and vulnerability to express his true feelings.

Kelly expressed excitement about exploring the next stage of their relationship. "I'm excited at the potential of getting to explore what it really is like to start a life with someone," she said. "Our whole lives it's been start, stop, will they, won't they, yes, no, can, can't. And that's kind of the easy part... So what's it like when you're building a life together?"

The actors also reflected on their experiences working with guest stars and musicians. Kelly described working with country singers Thomas Rhett and Jordan Davis on music festival scenes as "really fun" and "legit," though she noted that those scenes might have been cut. She also lauded Patricia Clarkson, who played Quinn's mother Claire, calling the experience a "dream" and praising Clarkson's energy and storytelling.

Duhamel spoke about reuniting with Steve Howey, who played Staten's brother Levi. Having known Howey since the early 2000s, Duhamel was pleased with his performance and expressed a desire to see the character return.

Looking ahead to a potential Season 3, both actors have specific ideas. Kelly hopes to explore the complexities of cohabitation and building a life together, emphasizing the challenges and rewards of navigating domesticity and seeing each other's flaws while still choosing one another. Duhamel suggested a more significant development: "I think we should have a baby!"

Kelly also touched upon the 20th anniversary of "Friday Night Lights," a show that was pivotal for her career and her long-standing friendship with co-star Zach Gilford. She expressed gratitude for her longevity in the industry and felt a sense of full-circle completion with "Ransom Canyon," viewing her current role as a grown-up version of her "Friday Night Lights" character, Lila.
