Rande Gerber Visits Son Presley's Home Amid Investigation into His Death
Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, was cremated following a suspected overdose, with his parents planning a private funeral.
Rande Gerber, father of the late model Presley Gerber, was seen visiting his son's home in the Hollywood Hills on Friday, days after Presley's death at age 27 from a suspected overdose. Gerber arrived at the residence in a black Range Rover and was observed walking to the front door with his head down, wearing a baseball cap. He spent approximately three hours at the property.
This marks the second visit by Gerber to the home since his son's passing. He and his wife, Cindy Crawford, were previously seen leaving the residence together on Monday, the day after Presley died at an upscale rehab facility in Santa Monica, California.
Presley Gerber has since been cremated, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ. His occupation was listed as an entrepreneur who worked in mental health. His parents reportedly plan to keep his ashes at their Malibu home. While an autopsy has been completed, the official cause of death is pending the release of toxicology reports from the medical examiner.
Sources close to the family told TMZ that funeral arrangements are being planned, with the ceremony expected to be small. Potential locations being considered for the service include Forest Lawn or Malibu Presbyterian Church.
New details have emerged regarding the circumstances of Presley's death. Sources close to the investigation indicated that he was found in a bedroom at the rehabilitation facility on September 20. He had reportedly checked into the facility the night before and was found unresponsive after going into cardiac arrest. According to TMZ, sources alleged that his body was discovered near, but not on, the bed in the room. The investigation is not currently focusing on fentanyl as a potential factor in his death.
The 911 dispatch call made from the rehab facility included an automated voice stating "cardiac arrest" followed by "overdose." The call was initially made at 9:35 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, regarding a cardiac arrest. Within three minutes, it was upgraded to an "overdose," and by 9:40 a.m., the priority was further escalated.
Sources also told TMZ that a physician had been prescribing ketamine to Presley, despite knowing about his past struggles with the drug. Ketamine can be used in addiction treatment, though it is not FDA-approved for that purpose. Friends of Presley are reportedly upset that the doctor allegedly prescribed the anesthetic knowing his history with addiction.
Presley had been open about his long-term struggles with drug addiction and mental health. Earlier this year, he posted about undergoing a "Pre-ibogaine flood dose" treatment in Mexico, a process involving a high dose of the psychoactive substance ibogaine intended to induce a reset. His parents and sister, Kaia Gerber, publicly supported his efforts, praising his courage.
In November of the previous year, Presley announced he was taking a break from social media to focus on his mental health. In December, he began sharing "Mental Health Mondays" videos on Instagram, detailing his medication for night terrors and panic attacks.
Presley began his modeling career at 15 and appeared in campaigns for brands such as Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein. He was signed to IMG Models and notably appeared in a 2018 Pepsi advertisement with his mother. He had a prior arrest in 2019 for driving under the influence.
His sister, Kaia, recently spoke about the profound impact Presley's struggles had on their family, telling Vogue that such turmoil "levels everyone." She also commended Presley for his openness about his challenges, noting his willingness to be "very human for everyone" and reduce the stigma around personal struggles.
